Many programs will continue to run on Windows 7, but browsers and e-mail clients might eventually become risky to use when there are no more updates. This end of support also means that software vendors will gradually phase out support for Windows 7 beginning January 14, 2020. Only corporate customers have the possibility to obtain security updates until January 2023 via the paid ESU program (see links at the end of this article). Microsoft is thus ending its 10-year support for the operating system.
On there will be security updates for Windows 7 for the last time in the context of Extended Support.
